| A mythical crystal, centuries ago chose a certain woman to carry out a strange task. A task that would be hard for any human to carry out. Fate had played a joke on her. To end all of humanity. ----------------
"You were chosen for this, and you cannot defy Destiny." This was true, but why did she not remember anything else? Her past? Anything? Well, at least she couldn't really complain about the present either. The men around here respected her. Respect was a hard thing to earn around here, that was for sure. Being a female soldier she had her duties to attend to, and worked hard for her title as well. She tried to be strong and just as good as any man out there, and they knew it. Sighing, the female ran a hand through her hair, completing her mission for the day. Though she never really did know her real name, 'Lightning' was just a sort of code name, or so she called it. Everyone called her by that, and if her memories ever did come back, then maybe someday she would remember. But until then. . her mind would always draw a blank. Footsteps crunched below her, as her boots seemed to fall in the hard snow that was now compacted onto the ground. How does one live everyday knowing that you will be the one to bring them all down? When the future is invitable no matter what happens? Her gun was in it's sling around her waist as she walked, which also conviently turned into a sword at her will, and defyed gravity. Making her way to a local bar, she opened the door, and sauntered over to the bar sitting on a nice, comfy red stool. "What can I get for you Miss?" The bartender asked her, cleaning out a glass with a gross, grimy rag. "Just a Long Island please." She said, drumming her fingers on the bar impatiently. Normally she didn't go to these too often, but she needed a drink badly today, but she would only be getting just one. Lightning sure as hell was no drunk. As the bartender slid her a drink, and she gave him the coin, she drained the glass instantly and walked out of the bar, shivering a little from the bitter cold, seeming to chill her to the bone. I wonder what tomorrow brings. . She hummed a melody on her way home. |
